Summer is in full swing and what better way to get refreshed than taking a dip in the pool? According to USA Swimming and the National Swimming Pool Foundation, there are 10 million swimming pools in the United States, with 360,000 public pools that stay open all year. But, when the sun is too much the pool house can be the next best choice for entertaining friends and family. Pool houses can be found at large private residences, apartment building pools, country clubs and other places that offer small public pools.
Pool houses come in all sizes and have many different needs. The smaller pool houses are essentially a place to take a shower and get dressed before or after a swim. Other pool houses are small residences with entertainment and living space. These larger pool houses are full of great features that accommodate everyone while by the pool. It is often times treated as an actual house. With many similar rooms as a house, it is essential that it is equipped with the right water heaters for functional needs. Some of the basic rooms that require a water heater include:
Having a bathroom in the pool house may seem like a natural choice, but it can be a big help when hosting a gathering. It provides quick access for showering and changing clothes after a long day of swimming. Bathrooms are one of the many rooms that require a source of hot water especially when showering and washing hands. In this case a light-duty natural gas water heater is recommended to accomplish those basic needs. For more information see our post on light-duty water heaters. We have many other light-duty water heaters available.
While hanging out by the pool it is important to stay hydrated and eat snacks throughout the day, but it can be a hassle to run back and forth inside the house to grab food and drinks. This makes the mini kitchen and bar inside the pool house are used frequently during these times. This feature is also used by apartment residents who hosts guests at the pool house.
Just like any kitchen, there is a need for hot water. The source of hot water is used for cooking, cleaning and the occasional emergency. One type of water heater that would be useful for the kitchen is a residential tankless water heater.
Wet bathing suits and damp towels are inevitable, but when washing them separately in the pool house laundry room it can make the process less stressful. Having a tankless water heater will be efficient to providing hot water to the washing machine for cleaning purposes. For more information see our post on tankless water heaters in a bathhouse.
